Re-Inventing How We Look at the Customer


COVID-19 has ushered in a period of rapid change and customers are re-inventing themselves into bread-makers, do-it-yourself enthusiasts and financially prudent in the wake of altered work patterns and heightened health-consciousness. At times of rapid change, new questions emerge and clear answers cannot already be known. This discussion explores the rapidly shifting marketing landscape, and the call for flexibility and rapid response. More than at any other time, brands urgently need to create experiences that understand and anticipate shifting customer needs; in this presentation, Sean and Jason will highlight a few of the challenges that Ford has experienced and how nimble responses to immediate needs are reshaping the experience of the brand. As customers reinvent themselves, marketing needs to as well.

MEET THE PRESENTERS

Jason Sprawka
Global Director, Customer Experience
Ford Motor Company


Jason Sprawka was appointed as the Global Director of Customer Experience in 2020 after leading the US Customer Experience Team for two years. In his current role, he is responsible for creating world class customer experiences throughout the sales and ownership cycle. Jason brings together multiple organizations within Ford to drive cohesion and seamless integration for customer interactions. Jason has served in many roles during his 16-year tenure with Ford Motor Company, including Regional sales positions as well as Product Marketing positions for FordPass, Lincoln, Escape and Fusion.


Sean Claessen
Chief Strategy Officer
Bond Brand Loyalty


When Sean Claessen solves for X, he always asks why. Through relentless curiosity, he has coalesced creativity and analytics, evolving the traditional strategy role to mesh finances and data to visual acumen and design thinking. After years of living in Ad Land, he wanted to give clients results, not just a string of F-words: Fleeting—Frivolous—Fun work—instead, work that could better use space, time, and money to solve problems. He joined Bond in 2008, as Executive Creative Director, and has taken years of millennial marketing, experiential excitement and an appetite for innovation into new realms. He now draws on Loyalty and Customer Experience vocabularies to innovate better in-store, digital, and people-related solutions that create return on investment and return customers. Spending a lot of time with unicorn companies in Silicon Valley, he’s a firm believer that disruption and rapid "pretotyping" offers all new possibility; and is relentless about agile testing and iteration.
